Die-hard fans of Arrow and The Flash television series have another thing to look forward to every week as DC’s Legends of Tomorrow, a spin-off from both shows, looks to build off the popularity of its parent shows and take viewers deeper into the DC universe.
Legends of Tomorrow revolves around Rip Hunter, played by Arthur Darvill, as he travels back in time to bring together a new team of heroes and villains who must work together in order to prevent a dark future that he has already seen. The team of “legends” must come together to find and stop the immortal Vandal Savage, played by Casper Crump, from conquering the world. The show will feature characters which have appeared in both Arrow and The Flash as well as several other new DC personalities.
Among the heroes and villains that Rip Hunter has chosen to help save the world are the Atom, the White Canary, the meta-human Firestorm, Captain Cold and his partner Heat Wave as well as Hawkman and Hawkgirl. Not only does this ragtag team have their hands full in trying to find and defeat the evil Vandal Savage, they first have to figure out a way to work together as a team in order have any chance at saving the world.
Aside from Darvill and Crump, Legends of Tomorrow also stars a strong cast featuring Victor Garber, Brandon Routh, Caity Lotz, Ciarra Renee and Franz Drameh. It also reunites the Prison Break brothers once again as Dominic Purcell and Wentworth Miller, both of whom played brothers Lincoln Burrows and Michael Scofield in the hit television show, reprise their roles as Heat Wave and Captain Cold, a pair of villains who first appeared in the first season of The Flash.
With the time-travel plot in Legends of Tomorrow, the show is poised to showcase encounters with superheroes and villains not only during the present but likewise in their past and/or future too, which initial reports is said to include bumping into villains Ra’s al Ghul and Damien Darhk.
While Legends of Tomorrow will have high expectations from fans of both Arrow and The Flash, the latest DC Comics television series shows some real promise that it will be an excellent show that viewers will enjoy.
Whether you are a die-hard DC comic’s fan or just someone looking for a good show to watch, be sure to check out DC’s Legends of Tomorrow which airs every Thursday night on The CW starting January 21, 2016.
