Tokyo Jungle 2 Teased By Sony? PS4 Version Will Have More Animals?

It looks like more “Tokyo Jungle” games are coming from Sony. When the game came out on the PS3 back in 2012, many considered it one of the odder games to come out in this generation, while others called it original and underrated. Either way, it looks like more “Tokyo Jungle” games are coming.

According to Push Square, Masaaki Yamagiwa had meetings with Sony about a possible new “Tokyo Jungle” video game. Yamagiwa was the producer of the original “Tokyo Jungle,” and it looks like he’s just as passionate about the game as the fans are.

Gematsu confirmed the news, while also stating that the two definitely plan on releasing something. A sequel to “Tokyo Jungle” would be interesting, especially if the sequel adds more animals or is set in different parts of Tokyo.

Of course, this might not mean an actual sequel to “Tokyo Jungle.” It’s possible that the meeting might involve porting the original game to the PS4, with improved visuals and maybe even a few new animals, though no one can say for sure.

For those unaware of the game, “Tokyo Jungle” had players controlling various animals in a world where humans have become extinct. Players explore the remains of Tokyo as a number of animals, from a defenseless dog to a vicious lion, so there’s plenty of gameplay variety.

Essentially, “Tokyo Jungle” was a game about survival. Players not only had to survive the various environments, but the other animals as well. This is difficult when playing as one of the weaker animals, as they have to escape some of the bigger and tougher beasts.

Of course, once these beasts become unlockable, the tables are turned. Players will be able to unlock Leopards, Cheetahs and Lions among other animals. Unlocking them will take a while, since players have to use the weaker animals first, but the reward is worthwhile.

PlayStation owners curious about “Tokyo Jungle” can pick it up on PS3. The game is only available as a digital download, but is worthy of it’s price for those that want an original and kind of odd survival game.
